Choices

I think it’s amazing the power that giving children a choice gives as a mum. For example if you ask a child what they would like for breakfast without giving a choice it can generally be something you don’t actually want them to have and likewise if you give them something without giving them an option, they can quite easily say to you that isn’t what they want.
However I have found that if you give a child a choice of a couple of options which you have picked, it works great for both child and parent. The parent gets to pick what they would like them to have yet the child still feels as though they are making the decision.
It doesn’t always work but the majority of the time this method works fantastically and can save a lot of stress and arguments.
I find it works well in any situation, not only meal times. Something I will definitely keep doing. x
